Hey Friend!

I'm glad you found my blog! I started Slammin Lammon because I love telling stories, writing and sharing everything on my mind! I hope you stay awhile and read a lot!

The Beginning

The Beginning

This is it folks. The very first post of what I hope will become a dynasty. Okay, well maybe that's a leeeeetle ambitious, but if I can get just one person to read my blog and laugh, (here's looking at you Mom) then I'll have done what I came here to do.

My father loved telling stories, especially with his hands, but those were mostly his aviation stories from the Marine Corps. I was raised begging him to tell me bedtime stories, but they were kinda counterproductive because they'd make me laugh so hard and not really calm me down for bed.

For my father, life was an opportunity for endless jokes, whether it was a perfectly timed quip, or an eye rolling pun, or some merciless teasing, there was always a joke available. I loved when he made me laugh, and felt pride seeing how many people were drawn to his stories, even if he was telling them AGAIN for the umpteenth time.

The kindest compliment I've ever received was that I took after my father. I intend to carry on his legacy and pass on some smiles or feelings to as many people as I can. I've come to discover that making people smile AND writing are both very cathartic for me. Lord knows I need something to help calm myself down and provide a positive outlet.

Now I can't promise you that this will be a PG or PC blog. My brain (unfortunately? fortunately?) doesn't work that way. But then again, if I am truly my father's daughter, this should be expected. I did after all buy him an unrated joke book for Father's Day when I was like 10.

Sorry Mom.

I'm here now to share with you all some of my views, thoughts and experiences in life, and any other random thing that pops into my head. I hope that maybe I can get at least a good chuckle out of you. And even though this post is short, I can promise you that the rest are nice long little books. Perfect to read when you don't want to put away the laundry!

And yes, I do know how to take a picture without looking like Quasimodo.
